Bhoori (1979) is a collection of eleven short stories portraying the struggles, resilience and changing values of Sindhi society. Its celebrated title story Bhoori has become a powerful symbol of the Sindhi community’s post-Partition struggle for survival, highlighting self-respect, dignity of labour and a woman’s strength in supporting her family. Several stories from the collection were later adapted into telefilms and plays.
